Loma Musser Reed

Loma Musser Reed (Mama Cub to generations of PHS graduates) died peacefully at her home in South Whitley on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. She was born July 29, 1926 in Dekalb County, Indiana, to William Albert and Minnie (Sponhauer) Musser. She was graduated from Auburn High School in 1944. On August 30, 1947, she married Richard “RV” Reed. Loma was a full-time homemaker, and supported RV through his career as a teacher, then Principal at Pierceton High School, and later at Whitko High School.

Lillie (Susie) Galbreath Hartup

Lillie (Susie) Galbreath Hartup (Class of 1956) passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Lillie was born on April 19, 1938 and was a resident of Warsaw, Indiana at the time of her passing. She was a lifetime resident of the Pierceton/Warsaw area after graduation from Pierceton High School.

Wilma Werstler Rostochak

Wilma Werstler Rostochak (Class of 1949) passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at her home in Pierceton. She was born on January 13, 1931 in Pierceton to Oscar & Elva (Reiff) Werstler. Wilma was a lifetime Pierceton area resident, and after graduation she attended Ravenscroft Beauty College in Fort Wayne. She was married on October 28, 1950 in Pierceton to Michael T. “Mike” Rostochak.

Charles Sellers

Charles Sellers (Class of 1946) passed away April 13, 2019 at home in South Bend, Indiana. He was born on May 3, 1928 in Kosciusko County. After graduation from Pierceton High School and Manchester College, Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He met and married his wife, Bonnie while both were working for Standard Oil of Indiana.

Valda Fruit Collier

Valda Fruit Collier (Class of 1940) passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 in Columbia City at the age of 96. Valda was born June 2, 1922 in rural Packerton to Ruth (McFarren) Fruit and Frank Fruit.  In 1946 she married Charles Collier, and they shared 68 years of marriage before he passed away on April 22, 2014. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana, Valda and Charles started Collier Oil Company just outside of Pierceton in 1956, and they ran the company together until 1991.

Joe Allan Crouch

Joe Allan Crouch (Class of 1961) died at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, after a three-year battle with autonomic instability. He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Warsaw, to Charles and Helen Gaskill Crouch. His wife, Bobbi Jackson Crouch, survives. Joe graduated from Pierceton High School, where he was active in basketball and track.

Sinda Sroufe O’Reilly

Sinda Sroufe O’Reilly (Class of 1974 – Whitko) passed away February 28, 2019 in Fort Wayne at the age of 62. She was born to Carl and Donnabelle Loe Sroufe on April 2, 1956 at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, Indiana. Later in her life she met Robert Hendry. They shared a common love for camping, and she was so blessed to share the last 14 years of her journey with him and creating a lot of memories together.

Cynthia Sweetheimer Petersen

Cynthia Sweetheimer Petersen (Class of 1965) passed away February 27, 2019, at her home in King George, Virginia. She was born on Sept. 8, 1947, to Charles and Marietta Sweetheimer in Warsaw and was graduated from Pierceton High School in 1965. On Sept. 18, 1988, she was united in marriage to David Petersen. They made their home in Maryland prior to moving to Virginia

Darrell D. Mort

Randall Caudill | Memoriam

Darrell D. Mort (Class of 1955) died February 26, 2019 at the age of 81 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born July 14, 1937 in Pierceton to Garl and Julia Carter Mort. He was graduated from Pierceton High School in 1955 and enrolled in DeVry Tech in Chicago. Darrell served in the US Army for three years as a radio repairman. In 1962, he married Ilah Kay Roberts, and the couple lived in several locations in northeast Indiana.

Letha Lentz Pletcher

Randall Caudill | Memoriam

Letha Lentz Pletcher (Class of 1942) passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Carmel, Indiana at the age of 94. She was the youngest of five daughters born to Clinton and Edna Lentz of Pierceton, Indiana. Letha was a cheerleader for the Pierceton Cubs basketball team, played in the high school marching band, was vice-president of her Senior class and became Kosciusko County Fair Queen in 1941. On July 14, 1942, she married Richard Pletcher, and they were blessed with nearly 72 years of marriage, most of which was while living in Pierceton.
