Randall Caudill | Memoriam

Dean Harris (Class of 1952) passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Pierceton on May 4, 1934, to Harry and Marjorie (Ritter) Harris. He was graduated from Pierceton High School, Purdue School of Pharmacy and served in the U.S. Army. He later worked at Brooklyn Ave Pharmacy and owned People’s Drug in Monroeville from 1989 to 2004.

Miriam Werstler Crouch

Miriam Werstler Crouch (Class of 1941) passed away April 4, 2020 in Fort Wayne.  She was born August 15, 1923 in Pierceton, Indiana, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Shultz) Werstler.  She retired from Rea Magnet Wire in 1986.  She enjoyed reading, feeding the birds, spending time at her lake home, watching NASCAR races and Indiana basketball games, scrapbooking, playing cards, and visiting with all of her grandchildren.

James L. Baublit

Randall Caudill | Memoriam

James L. Baublit (Class of 1959) of Peru, Indiana, passed away on February 3, 2020 at Northwoods Village. He was born to the late Kenneth Baublit and Marjorie Craig Baublit on February 3rd, 1941 in Pierceton, Indiana. After graduation from Pierceton High School, he joined the Air Force and served in Germany. Jim spent a 38 year career working for the Norfolk and Western Railroad until he retired in 2002. Jim loved sprint car racing, reading, golf, and playing cards, but most of all spending time with his friends at the Literary Aid and Maennerchor in Peru.

Callie Akers Shafer

Callie Akers Shafer (Class of 1960) passed away March 16, 2020 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. Callie was the daughter of the late Onda Akers and Beulah M. (Bays) Akers. After graduating from Pierceton High School, Callie continued her education in connection with her professional career with focuses in real estate, accounting and business management. Callie married Robert Shafer on October 7, 1960.

Anita Anders Krebs

Anita Anders Krebs (Class of 1960) passed away March 17, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw. She was born on October 6, 1941 at Wolf Lake, Indiana to Violet Audrey (Harlan) Anders and Homer Russell Anders. On August 26, 1960 she was married to Eddie Eugene Krebs. Anita worked in a number of factories during her career, and many came to know her as being their “Avon Lady.” She loved being a den mother for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, enjoyed volunteering her time with Meal on Wheels and the American Red Cross.

Rose Ann Makemsom Clair

Rose Ann Makemson Clair (Class of 1964) went home to be with her Lord on December 7, 2019 at home. She was born September 7, 1946 in Warsaw to LeRoy Homer and Betty Jean (Roush) Makemson. On August 14, 1977, she married Fremont Clair who preceded her in death. Rose Ann was a graduate of Manchester College and St. Francis College, and she attended classes at Children’s Ministry Institute in St. Louis. Rose Ann loved working with children and imparting to them the knowledge God had given her. She was a teacher at heart.
